While Proudspire Manor is the most expensive house in Skyrim - and costs even more to upgrade - it's also one of the best. Proudspire is found in Solitude, and, in addition to coming with lots of space, this three-floor home has a handy alchemy lab and is only a short walk from a nearby market filled with goods. It also has plenty of room to house children's quarters, which don't require players to sacrifice other amenities.

Additionally, it's got a nice patio with a view of the landscape. For completionists, buying Proudspire Manor is also needed to complete the " No Stone Unturned " side quest , since one of the Stones of Barenziah is found inside.

The manor is spacious, coming complete with a cooking pot, small garden and other perks, like a forge and alchemy lab. There are plenty of additional benefits, but it has a big downside, in that neither a spouse nor children can move into it. You can then buy land in that hold. Morthal is pretty much the same, a little quicker then Dawnstar, but not as easy as Falkreath. Just get on the Jarls good side, and you should get word from him about purchasing land.

The letter only comes to you if your already Jarl of a hold before loading the DLC, however ive only been given one for Falkreath on my most completed file. As far as I can remember from playing thi s game, Nenya has always been steward, and I just talked with her and the J arl, with no offer of lan d or anything else and I did not finish the Storm clock rebellion quest lin e. So, this is very fru strating! I want the Fal kreath property since you can't do much in that ar ea of Skyrim as it is.

THEN you have the option to b uy land. I had a strange issue. Wh en i met the courier, i n ever had the letter in my inventory so i just went straight to the steward like the walkthrough said , but i come to find that the person i'm supposed to talk to according to t he letter, Tekla, is now replaced by a woman named Nenya. I dug deeper and came to find that Nenya replaced Tekla as steward when the new Jarl took o ver. So i'm guessing i d on't have the letter in m y inventory cause Tekla i s no longer Steward.
