What is 720pn

Acutally pn seems to work just fine in a regular SD i project without any converting at all! I should have looked to see what continent you were on. In the states the electricity runs at 60Hz, so the frame rates are divided by it. With a HVX 24pN is a In the UK with 50Hz, 25pN is a true 25p. Page 1 of 1 4 items. Reply Contact. These are just my opinions tho, i love the camera but dont do feature work so others might be more knowledgable The only question the relates to the camera capabilites is in low light and noise.

I was just explaining the advantages of pn on a P2 camera as opposed to i. All of you guys have been very helpful. It is an HVX I only own a 4gig card and 8 gig card and ive learned the hard way that its a rat race to find any 16gig cards for sale i dont want to buy another 8 if i can hold off. So if i can shoot in pn that would doulbe my space. Scott that was very interesting, If it is true that the camera is upresing the signal to fill a frame instead of I dont mean to question your info but if you can just tell me where i can confirm that i would love to read up on that and make a decision.

I just have to be for sure. Joe you really seem to know your stuff. So your reply that its a no brainer to shoot in is the way to go. Puts me into a hard place. Let me ask you this Joe. If it is confirmed that the camera is upresing the signal from to what do you think about shooting in pn because it gives me lots more p2 card space which is great, it allows me to use slowmo and speed things up in the camera, it is true 24p native no pull down and i wont have to buy more cards.

THEN if i want to upres in the future for some reason. What do you think Joe? I don't own this camera but I deal with the footage in post. Very dirty. I personally would never let drive space dictate how I would shoot.

Outfit accordingly. That takes the creativity out. That's like running a racecar at less than optimal speed just to save gas.

Shane Ross. Sorry Joe, I gotta disagree. I have many many shots done in low light and they are great. You just need to fiddle with the settings inside the camera there are many. I have night footage shot with the Varicam and HVX mixed, and you'll be hard pressed to tell the difference. I guess my shooter doesn't know how to "fiddle". Shane knows more about this subject than I do by far so there you go Joey When life gives you dilemmas Its all HVX footage at least, and it looks great.

As i recall, he said when he low light problems, the hollywood street footage, he said he overcranked the gain to get a noisy look on purpose, as he felt it looked more like film grain than most. The chips are the limitation, not the frame size.

Mar 25, AM in response to thrillcat editorial In response to thrillcat editorial Thanks so much! Quick question: if it is not a full raster codec, should we continue to use it?

It was recommended by one of our shooters, who based it on research he'd done. Its our understanding that pN would be better for DVD and web, which is what we typically produce for. User profile for user: David S. David S. We can but we have limited P2 card space. Another reason why we shoot pN is to capitalize on space-- both P2 card and archival.

If we ever have a project that demands higher-end product, we can opt for AVCIntra, either 50 or Ask a question Reset.
